KBR Wins Award for Unprecedented Humanitarian Effort
KBR was honored with the 2022 Global Impact Award (large company category) by the International Stability Operations Association for its role in Afghan Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) and Refugee Resettlement Operations.
The award recognized KBR’s unprecedented contributions to Operation Allies Welcome, the historic humanitarian effort to relocate Afghan nationals following the collapse of the Afghanistan government in August 2021. KBR rapidly deployed vital infrastructure across nine sites in the U.S. and Europe to support nearly 58,000 displaced Afghans and delivered round-the-clock coordination of and assistance with Afghan SIV applications.
Supporting $3.5B Next-Generation Spacesuit Development
KBR is now a major partner to Axiom Space. Through Axiom Space’s Extravehicular Mobility Unit, KBR will collaborate to build next-generation spacesuits for commercial customers and private astronauts, while also meeting NASA’s ISS and Artemis lunar exploration needs.
KBR was selected by NASA as one of two companies eligible to support the development of NASA’s next-generation spacesuit and spacewalk systems through the Exploration Extravehicular Activity Services (xEVAS) contract.
KBR Welcomes VIMA Group to the Family
KBR has acquired UK-based VIMA Group, a leading provider of digital transformation solutions for defense and other public sector clients. The company is a trusted advisor and a top-five supplier to Defence Digital and Navy Digital — both organizations within the UK Ministry of Defence with numerous highly strategic, fast-growing programs.
VIMA Group delivers solutions across a number of large-scale, high-priority digital transformation programs, ensuring availability of effective digital and information technology as guided by the UK’s Digital Strategy for Defence.
KBR Completes Key Study to Assess Future Low-Carbon Hydrogen Imports
The Clean Air Task Force requested a study to assess different hydrogen carriers and the integrated supply chain economics for each, covering a timeline up to 2050.
KBR, as always, delivered.
The study assessed the economics of future low-carbon hydrogen imports into Europe, contributing to future policy that will support countries aiming to achieve net-zero sustainability targets.
Team Members from Frazer-Nash Make a Splash in Rowing Competition
Frazer-Nash Consultancy recently took part in the City of Bristol intercompany rowing regatta at the Bristol city docks. The team — dubbed Frazer-Splash — competed with counterparts from Rolls-Royce, Huboo Technologies and Wood Thilsted for side-by-side racing in eight-person boats from the Cottage Inn to the Grain Barge.
Frazer-Nash made it to the finals and took an early lead against Rolls-Royce. That lead would be enough and Frazer-Nash emerged victorious!
KBR Awarded Study for Renewable Power System Upgrade Using Green Ammonia Technology
KBR has secured a study to develop a carbon-neutral, green ammonia-based power system for a semisubmersible drilling unit owned by Odfjell. In collaboration with Odfjell, Equinor and Wärtsilä, KBR will assess converting the drilling units’ current diesel generators to ammonia-fueled generators.
