Ways of Supporting Talent
Coaching, mentoring and sponsorship are all important ways that leaders support future talent. Understanding the primary purpose of these roles will help leaders to form productive relationships with the talent they are supporting.
All three of these are valuable elements of development at KBR. While mentoring, coaching and sponsorship often overlap, mentoring and sponsorship most often come from outside of the direct manager/employee reporting line and take a larger career-growth perspective for building networks, establishing credibility and navigating the organization for success.
