Introducing

KBR’s Newest Employee Resource Group

KBR is excited to announce the launch of its newest employee resource group (ERG), ADAPT, dedicated to disability inclusion. Launch events are planned for October 18, 2023, during National Disability Employment Awareness Month in the U.S.

ADAPT supports the All In network’s Advocate cornerstone and will work to provide a community and resources for three distinct groups: individuals with disabilities, their parents/guardians/caregivers, and managers/coworkers of individuals with disabilities.

The ERG’s mission is to educate, empower and enhance the experiences of individuals with disabilities across KBR. ADAPT envisions a workplace where everyone — regardless of their abilities — feels empowered and embraced for their unique contributions and attributes.

I can’t wait to see ADAPT take its place alongside our established ERGs, which contribute to the life of KBR in so many brilliant ways and improve people’s experiences,” said Jay Ibrahim, president of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions and ADAPT executive leadership team (ELT) sponsor. “ADAPT’s mission is clear, and I look forward to seeing what they will achieve.”

ADAPT strives to foster an inclusive culture of empathy, understanding and accessibility by dismantling barriers and providing a sense of belonging, growth and equal opportunity, enabling everyone to reach their full potential within our organization and beyond.

KBR is the first employer where I felt I could be my authentic self and openly discuss being neurodiverse,” said ADAPT co-chair Elgan Iorwerth. “What excites me the most about ADAPT is that it’s an organic group of passionate individuals that came together to serve our community. I really want to encourage everyone to feel comfortable self-disclosing and using the resources KBR provides to support them and their families.”
Co-chair Jessica Venturelli added, “Being disabled doesn’t hinder potential. I believe that disabilities, mental or physical, are not hindrances but unique attributes that can be seen as powerful assets if given the right opportunities.”
