Global Connections

There are approximately 29,000 KBR employees all across the globe. Though we are separated by miles, we are all connected and working together toward a common purpose — to design and deliver the future while improving our social and environmental impact. In Global Connections, we celebrate KBR’s culture of inclusion and diversity by highlighting employees and the communities where they live around the world.

Washington, D.C. Area KBR is creating more flexible, modern and sustainable workspaces for employees worldwide. For example, this year KBR consolidated multiple offices in the Washington, D.C., area into two primary hubs. The leading-edge offices — located at 8120 Maple Lawn, Fulton, Maryland, and 2677 Prosperity Ave., Fairfax, Virginia — follow KBR’s new global workplace standards for design, ergonomics, IT and audio/visual equipment, and more. Additionally, each building is surrounded by an assortment of amenities, such as eateries, gyms and childcare centers.

Not only do these spaces help KBR meet sustainability and environmental goals, but they are also desirable, fun, efficient and collaborative places to work.

Office Highlights

  • Sit/stand workstations with front and lateral dividers that are touchless where practical for safety
  • Accommodate the new One Badge approach, which permits employee access to KBR facilities using the same badge at upgraded sites
  • Approximately 25 percent of space dedicated to offices, with the remaining 75 percent for workstations — many of which are designed as “free address/hoteling” space
  • Multiple collaboration spaces with Microsoft Surface Hub 2 technology, as well as divisible conference rooms, large open kitchens and secured business development areas
  • Phone rooms for private conversations and heads-down tasks
  • Digitally controlled lockers for additional storage

These hubs boast workspaces that boost flexibility, teamwork and overall work-life balance, supporting KBR’s workforce today and tomorrow.

IMPACT Launches D.C. Chapter

Meet Rachel Mouring, new chapter chair, and learn more about this employee resource group that helps develop those in the early stages of their careers at KBR.

When did IMPACT DC launch? We officially launched the new chapter in May. What inspired you to start the IMPACT DC chapter? I saw an ad for various corporate employee resource groups in a KBR newsletter. As a young professional myself, the purpose and potential benefits of IMPACT immediately resonated with me. As a heritage Centauri employee, I thought IMPACT DC would be a great way to foster cohesiveness between the KBR and Centauri offices in our area. It has been a refreshing source of energy and collaboration as we navigate the acquisition process, and the global nature of IMPACT creates a sense of togetherness that really seems to draw people in.

What’s the benefit of joining IMPACT DC? There are three primary areas of focus — professional development, networking and community engagement. We will hold events that target the development of leadership skills and provide opportunities to actively participate in recruitment and integration of new hires. Our chapter will also facilitate networking, both laterally and with KBR managers, so we can all serve our community together.

How can someone join the DC chapter? Click here to join IMPACT DC or email our membership chair, Cheng Dong.
