On Zero Harm Day, celebrated on 25 February 2026, we proudly marked a remarkable milestone, Zero Incidents, a testament to how engineering excellence and innovative thinking come together to create safer, smarter workplaces. At KBR, Zero Harm is more than an aspiration - it is a commitment woven into every process, design, and decision.

Our COC teams demonstrated this commitment through an impressive rise in CtCC submissions: 2,607 in December 2025, 3,498 in January 2026, and 4,692 in February 2026. This steady growth reflects the dedication of every employee in embedding Zero Harm into daily work.

We are also proud to share that the KBR Chennai Office received the Zero Harm Award for 2025, achieving over 2 million continuous safe work hours without a categorized incident, an outstanding example of what disciplined execution and a safety‑first mindset can achieve.

Together, we continue to drive value, protect our people, and strengthen our culture of safety powered by innovation, teamwork, and leadership.

ENGINEERING UPDATES

The first quarter of 2026 marked a strong start for the India organization, showcasing momentum across delivery excellence, client confidence, quality and compliance, capability building, and employee engagement. Chennai and Bengaluru continued to evolve as dependable global execution hubs, well prepared for the next phase of growth.

India teams delivered consistently on large and complex FEED, PMC, and Detailed Engineering scopes across refinery, petrochemicals, LNG, offshore, and downstream projects. These efforts reinforced India’s position as a core execution center. Collaboration between Chennai and Bengaluru strengthened further, particularly in brownfield, offshore, and PMC‑aligned scopes, supporting clearer ownership models for future projects. Leadership forums reported a stable delivery landscape with no major disruptions.

Q1 also saw strong client engagement through senior‑level reviews, capability showcases, and technical discussions. Chennai continued to grow as a global FEED and Detailed Engineering hub, while Bengaluru expanded its visibility in offshore and PMC scopes. Aligned efforts between Engineering, Projects, and BD ensured consistent messaging around capabilities and execution readiness for upcoming opportunities.

Focus on quality, governance, and compliance remained strong. The Bengaluru Internal QA Audit conducted in January saw active cross‑functional participation, with findings tracked through structured ownership and closure plans. Quality and IMS induction sessions across both centers reinforced global standards, design discipline, and rigorous review processes critical as teams scale and multi‑partner models expand.

Q1 also emphasized capability building and digital enablement, with efforts to strengthen engineering competencies, accelerate digital adoption, and foster knowledge sharing. Leadership reiterated the importance of early engagement, FEED influence, and execution assurance as India continues to play a more strategic role in global delivery. HR and leadership teams worked closely on workforce planning and readiness for upcoming project ramps, ensuring resilience in a shifting market environment.

The quarter was further enriched by strong employee engagement and community impact. Initiatives such as the “Gift of Life” blood donor program and a large‑scale beach cleanup drew significant participation from employees and families, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to social responsibility. Leadership communications throughout Q1 emphasized health, safety, and well‑being, encouraging preventive care and promoting a balanced work culture.

Q1 concluded with a stable delivery baseline, strong cross‑center collaboration, robust quality discipline, and high employee engagement. These strengths position the India organization for increased execution responsibility, deeper FEED influence, and expanded client trust as 2026 progresses.

AMUFERT FERTILISER PMC PROJECT

AMUFERT, a company operating under Angolan law, is leading fertilizer production and marketing in Angola, with its primary operations based in the municipality of Soyo in the Zaire province. The Soyo Fertilizer Industrial Complex is one of the most ambitious investments of the Opaia Group, backed by USD 2 billion in funding from the African Export‑Import Bank (Afreximbank). This investment reflects strong international confidence in Angola’s potential as a strategic hub for industrial and agricultural development in Africa.

This project is expected to have a transformative impact across the continent by strengthening large‑scale fertilizer production capacity, reducing import dependency, and boosting national agricultural output. With this development, Angola positions itself as a leading fertilizer supplier for Africa, helping improve food security and supporting sustainable growth across neighboring countries.

As part of this landmark initiative, KBR is providing project management services overseeing the engineering, procurement, and construction phases. The facility includes a 2,300 metric tons per day (MTPD) ammonia plant and a 4,000 MTPD urea plant. The ammonia unit is based on KBR’s proprietary Purifier™ technology, while the urea plant uses TOYO’s ACES21™ technology. This PMC contract builds on KBR’s earlier scope that included technology licensing, proprietary engineering design, equipment supply, and catalyst solutions. EPC execution is being carried out by Wuhuan Engineering, China, on an LSTK basis for the ISBL, while OSBL and offsite infrastructure are being developed by Wedo Developments.

The project has recently achieved multiple critical milestones and is poised to enter its construction phase in Q3 2026. Key accomplishments in recent months include:

  • Purchase orders placed for all long‑lead equipment
  • Primary Reformer (supplied by KBR) burner performance test successfully completed
  • Module assembly and leak testing completed for the Air Preheater of the Primary Reformer
  • Major raw materials received for ammonia proprietary equipment, with fabrication in progress
  • Major raw materials received for urea proprietary equipment, with fabrication in progress
  • Dynamic compaction completed at site; construction work for temporary facilities underway

PIPING TEAM UPDATES

Learning & Development

IGP, CORI ENGINEERS & GOODRICH Gaskets Facility Visit

On February 06, 2026, a team of 24 members from the Piping department and 4 members from the Mechanical team visited CORI Engineers Pvt. Ltd., IGP Engineers Pvt. Ltd., and Goodrich Gasket Pvt. Ltd. to gain insights into their manufacturing capabilities, product portfolios, and quality practices related to piping gaskets and rubber expansion bellows.

During the visit, participants observed various manufacturing processes including rubber compounding, calendaring, moulding, autoclave curing, and gasket fabrication, along with RTJ flange production through centrifugal casting. A wide range of products such as rubber expansion joints, spiral wound gaskets, RTJ gaskets, Kammprofile gaskets, and other engineered components were showcased.

The visit enhanced the team’s understanding of product applications, design considerations, and manufacturing practices relevant to piping systems. It was a valuable learning experience, particularly for young engineers.

The visit concluded safely without any incidents and ended with a brief interaction with the Managing Director, along with a tree-planting ceremony to commemorate the occasion.

AIV/FIV Technical Training – February 2026 Session

The COC Piping and Process team successfully concluded an intensive and technically enriching training program on Acoustic-Induced Vibration (AIV) and Flow-Induced Vibration (FIV) during February 2026. Conducted by the HOC team, the month‑long initiative comprised two sessions per week, offering participants a deep dive into the complexities of vibration behaviour in piping systems.

The sessions were led by Mr. Arindam Ghosh, a renowned Noise and Vibration expert, who delivered comprehensive training on the fundamental principles, analytical methodologies, and practical design implications associated with AIV/FIV. His guidance enabled participants to strengthen their understanding of vibration phenomena and to apply these insights to real‑world engineering challenges. The great insights into the KBR’s approach to vibration assessment, risk evaluation, applicable vibration‑related codes and standards and practical project implementation strategies provided a holistic understanding of vibration management in engineering design.

A major highlight of the program was the detailed emphasis on vibration screening requirements and their alignment with Energy Institute–recommended practices, reinforcing global industry standards for assessing vibration risks and safeguarding piping integrity. The training effectively enhanced the participants’ technical competency and preparedness for addressing vibration‑related issues across diverse project environments.

Further enriching the program were contributions from distinguished Chief Engineers Mr. Jim Williams and Mr. Jerome Pelton, who shared invaluable real‑world experiences through vibration case studies, failure analyses and root‑cause identifications.

The training cohort included a dynamic blend of experienced professionals and early‑career engineers, fostering an engaging and collaborative learning atmosphere. Participants were also exposed to industry best practices in vibration screening and assessment, along with discussions featuring high‑quality ASME technical papers, which further elevated the technical depth and relevance of the program.

This comprehensive initiative significantly enhances the AIV/FIV expertise within the KBR Chennai Operating Center, strengthening its capability to deliver AIV/ FIV assessments and reinforcing its commitment to engineering excellence across global projects.

Global Finance Leadership Connect 2026 – An Evening to Remember

One of the most memorable events of the year was the Global Finance Leadership Connect, held at Taj Wellington Mews on 21st Jan. The event brought together the senior leadership team of KBR’s Finance organization for an engaging and energetic evening.

The event, themed “Therikka Vidalamaa!”, was filled with excitement and enthusiasm from the very beginning. What started as a leadership connect soon turned into a vibrant celebration, with leaders actively participating and setting the tone for the evening.

The program featured senior leadership addresses, singing performance, a special 10-year anniversary celebration, and a series of mind-blowing games that kept everyone entertained. In fact, the leadership team truly stole the show with their enthusiastic participation.

No team connect is complete without great food, and the delicious dinner added the perfect finishing touch to the evening. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to network, connect with leadership, and strengthen relationships, making the event both memorable and meaningful.

GURGAON'S FAMILY DAY

The Gurgaon team celebrated Family Day on March 14, bringing together more than 500 hearts for an evening filled with laughter, joy, and unforgettable memories. It was a day where families came together as one big KBR community strengthening bonds, sharing smiles, and creating moments to cherish. A true celebration of togetherness, the FamJam way.
