Let's take a look back at some of the highlights that have shaped our journey towards a brighter, more inclusive future.
Session with William Maher
In a pivotal meeting during the second week of January, William Maher, Vice President, Internal Audit, graced us with his presence. This session was a milestone in our commitment to women's empowerment and inclusion. We had the opportunity to showcase the impactful events hosted by ASPIRE throughout the past year, from skill-building workshops to inspirational speaker series. A key highlight was the launch of "ASPIRE INDIA," unifying Aspire chapters across different locations under a single banner. William's support for this initiative reaffirmed our collective dedication to fostering diversity and inclusion.
Aspire Team's Visit to Taramani Government School
The Aspire team embarked on a visit to Taramani Government School to connect with class nine students sponsored by KBR. The session aimed to introduce STEM education to these young minds, encouraging them to embrace diverse learning methods. Led by Barani G K, Director, Engineering, the interaction concluded with a discussion on the importance of education and the potential of pursuing engineering for a brighter future.
Stuart Bradie’s Chennai Visit
On February 27, 2024, our CEO, Stuart Bradie, brought his dynamic energy to our Chennai office. During his visit, he engaged with our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) – Aspire and Impact. The Aspire team shared their plans for 2024, focused on empowering women professionally and personally. With our plans aligned, the team is poised to embark on a journey of execution, fostering empowerment within our women's community.
Women’s Day Celebrations
International Women's Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at all locations. The day began with the distribution of chocolates and empowering wristbands, setting a positive tone for the festivities. Our chief guest shared her inspiring journey, emphasizing the importance of resilience in overcoming challenges. Awards were presented to outstanding women performers, acknowledging their exceptional contributions. We also recognized exceptional male allies for their commitment to fostering an inclusive environment. The celebration continued with engaging games, fostering camaraderie and laughter among colleagues, and concluded with a powerful message of solidarity and inclusion.
These moments reflect our unwavering commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where every voice is heard and every individual is empowered to succeed. As we continue on this journey, let's carry forward the spirit of unity, resilience, and empowerment, shaping a brighter tomorrow for all.
IMPACT CHENNAI & BENGALURU
IMPACT Chennai: Igniting Growth, Inspiring Leadership, and Building Bonds in Q1 2024!
In Q1, IMPACT Chennai organized several engaging sessions and activities to foster professional development among employees. We started off 2024 organising a Leadership Insight session with William Mayer (VP, Internal Audit) providing employees with the opportunity to interact with a prominent leader within KBR. Participants gained valuable insights into Mayer's role within the company and his career journey, offering inspiration and guidance for their own paths.
Keeping in mind the professional growth of our members, we organised the “Eloquent Expeditions: The Public Speaking Quest” session, where participants received support in overcoming their fear of public speaking and enhancing soft skills. Through impromptu speeches and simulated scenarios, participants honed their communication abilities.
We also had the opportunity to setup a Leadership session, this time with Bob Brendling, allowing members to interact with another leader and understand his contributions and career trajectory within KBR.
Finally, we organised an outdoor networking session - "Game Night of Board Games," offering employees an opportunity to unwind and bond outside of work hours, promoting a sense of camaraderie and belonging.
These sessions collectively aimed to facilitate professional growth, bolster soft skills, foster leadership understanding, and strengthen team cohesion within the IMPACT Chennai.
IMPACT GURUGRAM & PUNE
Introducing iCAN: Empowering Voices, Building Bridges
The Impact teams from Gurugram and Pune proudly present iCAN, an initiative by the IMACT Delhi-Pune Chapter. iCAN serves as a dynamic platform for IMPACT members to enhance communication skills and foster networking opportunities.
Through engaging sessions comprising extempore speeches, debates, and team-building activities, iCAN empowers participants to express themselves confidently while exploring diverse perspectives. Beyond skill development, iCAN nurtures connections among members, bridging geographical divides and fostering a sense of community.
ZERO HARM
Celebrating 24/7 Commitment to Safety
In the first quarter of 2024, KBR commemorated Zero Harm across our organization and regional offices. Under the theme "All Day Every Day," we emphasized the crucial significance of maintaining safety vigilance and unwavering commitment to safety protocols.
Our event began with addresses from our management team, including Hari Ravindran, Geetha Ramamoorthy, Subas Das, and M.S Raju, who shared insights and reaffirmed our dedication to safety. The celebration continued with a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony and the signing of our commitment banner, symbolizing our pledge to safety excellence.
ITC led a Health Carnival, reinforcing our commitment to employee well-being. A total of 298 employees participated in this event, availing themselves of various health initiatives.
The Health Carnival spanned three days in Gurgaon and two days in Pune. Post-event, employees received comprehensive health reports and consultations with medical professionals, bolstering awareness of individual health among our KBR employees.
In Chennai and Bengaluru, Zero Harm celebrations began with banner signings and townhall meetings, followed by various competitions such as quizzes, children's artwork, and photography, all themed around "All Day Every Day." Additionally, health check-up campaigns were organized at all Indian locations.
The Zero Harm team also hosted well-being events like puzzle-solving sessions on World Mental Health Day, highlighting our commitment to employee welfare and health.
MILESTONES
RENDEZVOUS FINALE
The successful conclusion of "Rendezvous with the People’s Leader" in Chennai marked a significant milestone during the GLT meet in February 2024. Across 9 engaging episodes, we celebrated the diverse leadership journey of KBR, highlighting nostalgic moments shared with esteemed guests. Each episode showcased the goodness and rich conversations, spanning our leaders' lifestyles and remarkable achievements, fostering an atmosphere of exuberance for all attendees. As the melodies intertwine and hearts glow, we gracefully bid farewell, allowing memories to bloom eternally.
CONTRACT SIGNED
KBR has secured a contract to supply KRES(TM) add-on to an existing SMR at a leading Indian oil refiner. KRES is an innovative solution aimed at boosting efficiency and increasing hydrogen production capacity by 25%, thereby reducing the overall carbon footprint. This milestone project marks the first-ever installation of KBR KRES in a competitor's hydrogen unit, presenting various challenges such as limited site access and equipment size limitations. Despite these obstacles, KBR's pursuit team collaborated to develop an optimized solution, showcasing our commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions in the energy sector. This strategic partnership highlights KBR's expertise and ability to tackle complex projects, driving sustainability and operational excellence in the industry.
