INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
KBR’s Email and PST Management Framework
Effective from January 1, 2025
Specifically, to reinforce what has been communicated in previous KBR-wide messages, sharing a few talking points and reference materials to help with your preparations for this transition. Please share this information with your respective teams for maximum awareness. For the latest materials and communications, please also regularly refer to the Email and PST Management Home Page, and be sure to complete the two new email training courses that have been specifically designed to assist:
Below are some important high-level points to remember:
PST files: While the email availability period will be implemented in phases, all PST files will no longer be available beginning January 1, 2025.
Important: If you feel that you have business-critical content located in a PST file, consider importing your PST content to Outlook before January 1st. Here is a link for instructions: Import email, contacts, and calendar from an Outlook .pst file - Microsoft Support.
However, please remember that any emails moved to Outlook will be subject to the new email retention timeline (e.g., any emails moved to Outlook that are older than seven years will no longer be available starting January 1, 2025).
This information can also be found in the project’s FAQ document.
Begin your Outlook cleanup now: The fact that we are getting closer and closer to the end of the year only strengthens the criticality of acting now.
Please note that no automated solutions will be provided or should be used to help perform Outlook cleanup activities.
Therefore, please encourage your teams to collaborate with each other to determine what type of content, currently residing in Outlook, should be saved.
Each person is then responsible for reviewing their own Outlook account and saving what is deemed necessary for business continuity.
An Outlook Cleanup Guide has been provided to help team members organize their Outlook cleanup efforts. It is a fast, easy, and convenient way to get IT support whenever you need it.
Future solutions:
The project team has been working across the organization to understand impacted processes and provide potential go-forward solutions to move critical business records outside of Outlook.
While the IT organization has more familiarity with the applications and solutions that are available for these processes, the ask is that you think critically about the best path forward for your scenarios and use cases.
If you have not already done so, please contact the project team at EmailManagementProgram@kbr.com should you need assistance or to discuss your impacted processes in more detail.
Thank you in advance for your ongoing support and please take a minute to cascade this information to the individuals within your departments.

Offsite Visit

OCI Synloop Ammonia Operator Training Simulator (OTS)
Site visit for OTS delivery & operator training
Since January 2024, KBR has been working with OCI LLC to develop the OCI Synloop Ammonia Operator Training Simulator (OTS). This includes the delivery of KBR Synloop OTS and Integrated Training Solution (ITS)– that will provide hands-on training to OCI’s operators by leveraging the expertise of our SMEs.
KBR Successfully delivered an Emulated Operator Training Simulator (OTS) for OCI’s Ammonia Synthesis Loop Plant in Beaumont, Texas, USA in duration of 10 months.
Comprehensive OTS-based integrated trainings covered all major aspects of plant operations, from initial cold startup to shut down and emergency scenarios. Guided by our expert process team. This training ensures operators are well-prepared for safer, faster, and smoother plant startups.
The OCI LLC team visited KBR Houston office in September to complete the two weeks Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) activity.
Upon successful completion of the FAT, OTS system is delivered to OCI plant site in October Month. A Site Acceptance Test (SAT) of the OTS system is completed with OCI team at OCI plant site & OTS system handed over to the OCI Training Department.
Post SAT, A well guided training is provided to OCI assigned OTS Instructors, on “How to use OTS to its maximum potential?”.
Also, OTS based hands-on training, referred as ITS, is provided to OCI Operators under the guidance of KBR Ammonia Plant Commissioning Expert George Colman.
The value propositions of KBR's OTS platform for Ammonia plants are:
- As a process licensor, KBR has an in-depth understanding of the Ammonia processes. KBR’s OTS is designed to accurately simulate Ammonia processes, ensuring comprehensive and accurate training for operators.
- KBR customizes the OTS platform to match the dynamic behavior of an Ammonia facility, making the training experience highly relevant and specific to the clients’ operations. KBR incorporate real-life global plant issues and industry best practices into their simulators, ensuring that operators are trained on cutting-edge techniques and equipment.
- KBR’s ITS provides industry-specific training that goes beyond basic class-room training. This can include insights into unique challenges, safety protocols, and optimal operating procedures.
