Earth Day 2024 was celebrated with great enthusiasm across KBR offices in Chennai, Bangalore, Gurgaon, and Pune. Employees came together to plant saplings, symbolizing our collective commitment to nurturing nature and fighting plastic pollution. Team-building events like a Scavenger Hunt brought teams closer while fostering environmental awareness. Through creative activities such as Dumb Charades, participants learned about the decomposition of everyday products, blending education with fun. The day also featured innovative "Waste to Wealth" initiatives, showcasing solutions made from recyclable materials. Inspirational speeches from our leaders further motivated everyone to continue their dedication to environmental stewardship and a healthier planet.
Breaking Barriers: "Women In Tech" Panel Discussion
This panel discussion organised by the Aspire India team brought together a group of successful and accomplished women in the technology industry to share their experiences and insights. These inspiring panelists opened up about their personal journeys, discussing the challenges they faced and the triumphs they achieved along the way. The session aimed to motivate and encourage women aspiring to pursue careers in technology, highlighting the importance of increasing female representation and leadership in the field. The "TECH IT UP" series kicked off with an engaging session focused on the introduction to AI and ML, successfully bridging the gap between machines and human interaction. Attendees explored the latest innovations and best practices in human-computer interaction and AI integration through a comprehensive overview that covered topics such as machine learning algorithms, neural networks, and deep learning. International Women in Engineering Day Celebrations
International Women in Engineering Day 2024 (INWED) was celebrated with an engaging quiz trivia event across our offices. The quiz featured three exciting rounds with questions highlighting the remarkable contributions of women engineers - historical and contemporary. Participants were captivated as they tested their knowledge, with winners and the first runner-up receiving special recognition and sweet treats for the audience.
Additionally, the event included a nomination process where female employees were honored in categories such as The Extra Mile, The Silent Hero, The Professional Prodigy, The Alpha Performer, and Perfect Teammate. With over 70 nominations received, the judges had the challenging task of selecting winners based on their exceptional contributions to engineering and teamwork. The celebration was a resounding success, fostering awareness and appreciation for the incredible achievements of women in engineering.

Build Your Own Terrarium - Celebrating Earth Day 2024! 🌍
On May 2, 2024, the IMPACT Chennai Chapter hosted a "Build Your Own Terrarium" event to promote eco-conscious habits. Participants learned about plant life and sustainability while creating stunning terrariums in glass containers. Teams competed enthusiastically, producing beautiful displays of creativity that embodied environmental awareness. The event culminated in the selection of the best terrarium, which was prominently displayed in our office reception. This initiative not only celebrated Earth Day but also inspired a deeper commitment to protecting our planet. It showcased our dedication to fostering a greener, more sustainable future, leaving a lasting impression on all participants.
Mastering Project Management Skills
Our recent Professional Development session, part of the 'Focused Series on Project Management,' aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the critical areas of project management, delivery, and execution. The session speaker, Amartya Roy, kept the audience engaged by sharing his insights and experiences from various projects. The session effectively covered the interrelationship between scope, time, and cost, providing a solid foundation for understanding project constraints. Leadership Lounge – Power of decision Making
The Leadership vertical has launched a new series called Leadership Lounge, offering a formal platform for leaders to discuss various leadership traits. Our recent session, focused on the “Power of Decision Making” with A.R. Velmurugan, was an enlightening experience where we explored how to make effective decisions under pressure. The event emphasized the importance of strategic thinking and problem-solving. Through live Mentimeter surveys and discussions, we gained valuable insights into the decision-making process and its impact on a team's success. Overall, the event was not only educational but also empowering, leaving a lasting impact on our approach to leadership.
Unveiling the Thrills of Trivia Night
At our recent Trivia Night, laughter filled the room as teams engaged in games like "Don't Laugh," where wit and composure were put to the test. "Guess the Proverb" challenged participants, adding a dynamic twist to the evening. The highlight, however, was the Spaghetti “Tower Building” competition, where creativity and teamwork flourished as colleagues strategized to construct the tallest and sturdiest towers.
Beyond the games, Trivia Night provided the perfect platform for networking among colleagues. Conversations flowed freely, bonds were strengthened, and new connections were forged over shared victories and creative challenges. iCAN: Uniting Voices, Shaping Leaders!
The Impact team has successfully concluded three iCAN sessions in April, May, and June, making strides in enhancing communication skills across the Gurugram and Pune chapters. iCAN has quickly become a vital platform, offering participants a chance to hone their public speaking and debating abilities while fostering meaningful connections within the community. Each session has been a blend of extempore speeches, debates, and team-building activities, empowering members to express themselves with confidence. Beyond skill development, iCAN is building bridges between members from different locations, creating a unified and engaged community. As we look forward to future sessions, iCAN continues to inspire, connect, and empower every voice in the Impact community.

The Impact Gurugram and Pune chapters came together to celebrate Earth Day and Yoga Day in a meaningful and mindful way. Embracing the spirit of sustainability, they planted trees, contributing to a greener future. To promote wellness, the team also engaged in chair yoga, fostering a sense of inner balance and calm. Championing Safety, Wellness, and Leadership
A Safety-Centric Visit: On April 23, 2024, our Chennai office had the privilege of hosting Nick Anagnostou, VP, HSSE, and Suresh Kumar Manikam, Director, HSE. During their visit, a comprehensive Safe Tour was conducted, showcasing our unwavering commitment to safety excellence. The visit culminated in a townhall event where the winners of the CtCC were recognized, highlighting the collective efforts of our team in promoting a safe and healthy workplace.
International Yoga Day – Mindfulness in Motion: On June 21, 2024 we celebrated International Yoga Day with a session led by an external trainer. This event offered our team a rejuvenating experience, emphasizing the importance of mindfulness and well-being. The practice of yoga not only reinforced physical health but also fostered mental clarity and a sense of balance, aligning perfectly with our HSSE values.
Leadership Safe Tour – Leading by Example: In May 2024, Geetha conducted a Leadership Safe Tour across our Ascendas and Prestige Polygon offices. This tour underscored the significance of safety from the top down, demonstrating that leadership is not just about guidance but also about actively participating in our safety culture.
CtCC Achievements: A Snapshot of Our Commitment: Our Chennai and Bangalore offices have been at the forefront of the CtCC initiative, with a remarkable 33,669 CtCCs submitted between January and June 2024, and 22,271 of those submitted from April to June alone. Across India, including our offices in Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Gurgaon, the total CtCC submissions reached an impressive 38,607 in the first half of the year, with 24,422 entries recorded between April and June.
These numbers are a testament to our collective dedication to safety and care, ensuring that our workplace remains a secure and supportive environment for all. Let’s continue to build on this momentum, making safety a cornerstone of everything we do.
INTERNAL AUDIT
During the first week of June 2024, the Chennai office had the pleasure of hosting Will Maher, VP, Internal Audit. His visit included a team-building event where the group bonded over an exciting game of laser tag, followed by dinner. Will also actively participated in the PSS Survey launch, underscoring the importance of engagement and candid feedback. His time with the team was invaluable, as he led discussions on departmental updates and charted the course for future initiatives.

Duo MFA
Starting Friday, June 14, VIP Access will no longer be available for authentication. Please register, install the Duo Mobile App, and begin using Duo regularly as our new MFA standard. Beginning in Q3, all team members will be required to use Duo MFA to log in to their KBR-provided computers.
Why the switch to Duo? Implementing the Duo MFA requirement at computer sign-in significantly strengthens our cybersecurity posture, protects sensitive information, and reduces the risk of unauthorized access or data breaches.

Leadership Visit
From May 20 to 23, 2024, John Thomson, CIO, visited the Chennai office for a Digital Workshop. His visit culminated on May 23rd with engaging sessions, including a Koffee Konversation and an IT Townhall event, where he connected with the team and shared valuable insights.

Zscaler is becoming mandatory. Zscaler (ZPA) will be a replacement for AnyConnect VPN and will automatically connect users to the KBR network upon login from the Internet.

Navigating the Depths: A Transformative Training Program in Offshore Engineering
In April 2024, a pivotal offshore training program was conducted for 25 engineers, led by a team from AMET University. This initiative aimed to boost the skills of both onshore and offshore personnel, ensuring they are well-prepared for the demands of their projects.
The training covered key areas, including an overview of the ocean environment, the effects of waves and earthquakes, the analysis of offshore structures, and foundation studies. These topics are crucial for the effective execution of offshore engineering tasks, and the program provided participants with valuable insights.
Management's role was crucial, from endorsing the initiative and providing the necessary resources to encouraging participation and monitoring progress. Their involvement ensured that the training met its goals, equipping participants with essential knowledge and skills.
As a result, the engineers are now better prepared to tackle the challenges of offshore projects. The program has elevated their technical competencies, marking a significant step forward in professional development within the offshore department.
This initiative highlights the importance of continuous learning and development, supported by management and collaboration with specialized training agencies. The skills acquired during this program will be seamlessly integrated into daily operations, contributing to the ongoing success in the offshore sector.
Camaraderie Unleashed: A Memorable Evening with the P80 & P83 Piping Team
In June, the P80 & P83 Piping teams took a break from their busy schedules to enjoy a spectacular evening at Hilton Chennai. This special outing wasn't just for the team members—it was a family affair, making it an opportunity for everyone to unwind and connect on a more personal level.
The evening was filled with warmth and camaraderie as team members and Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs) shared their positive experiences of working on the project. The leaders took this opportunity to express their heartfelt appreciation for the team's hard work and dedication. To make the evening even more enjoyable, the GETs thoughtfully organized fun activities for the spouses and children, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.
The outing was a resounding success, leaving everyone with fond memories and a renewed sense of unity. The event truly embodied the spirit of Steve Jobs' words: "Great things in business are never done by one person; they’re done by a team of people."
