Emerging Systems


KBR is focused on enhancing defence capability through innovation and new technologies. We work with the Australian Defence Force to develop emerging systems through research and development programs and provide advice on how to best implement these technologies in mission-critical areas.

We support a range of solutions that increase operational effectiveness enhance the capability of the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

Electro Magnetic Battle Management

KBR collaborated in partnership with the ElectroMagnetic Battlefield Management (EMBM) Program. EMBM will provide users with situational understanding of the civilian, Australian government, ADF partners and foreign national electromagnetic spectrum (EMS). It will provide the ADF personnel with the knowledge and tools necessary to make appropriate decisions about EMS use.

The project will progress and redefine the ADF’s electromagnetic edge in a highly complex EMS space, providing the user with a rapid understanding of the contested, congested, and conflicting EMS that impacts all domains and military services. This initiative will continue to evolve with Industry partners.

As part of the Royal Australian Airforce’s Jericho Disruptive Innovation team, KBR are engaging in collaborative design, development and rapid prototyping to develop new technologies and emerging systems that will help the Australian Defence Force ADF’s deliver a fifth-generation force
