Project Management Office

This quarter, we're spotlighting the Project Management Office (PMO), a team that helps bring structure, visibility and coordination to some of KBR's most important strategic initiatives.
Whether driving governance and accountability, or helping leaders navigate complex challenges, the PMO plays a critical role in supporting major business transformation programs.
Turning Strategy Into Action
The PMO helps KBR successfully deliver complex strategic initiatives, providing the governance, planning, reporting and oversight needed to keep projects on track and aligned with business objectives. By maintaining schedules, documenting key decisions and supporting risk management activities, the PMO helps ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
The team also acts as a central coordination point that helps leaders understand progress, identify challenges early and make informed decisions. This visibility is particularly valuable on large, business-critical programs where multiple teams and priorities must come together to achieve a common goal.
Supporting KBR's Most Significant Transformation
The PMO is currently playing a vital role in supporting the historic transformation of KBR’s Mission Technology Solutions business into Trinzic.
The PMO is the central coordination and governance function for the spin-off. The team supports workstream owners across the project, such as People, Information Technology, Legal, Accounting and more. They maintain the overall program schedule (i.e., identifying and managing critical path activities) and they also control budgets, document key decisions, and help mitigate risks.
By providing a single view of progress across multiple workstreams, the team helps ensure dependencies are understood, milestones are achieved and leadership has the information needed to guide the program successfully.
Leading Operational Readiness
The team is also leading operational readiness activities across both KBR and Trinzic. This means ensuring both organizations are fully prepared to operate as independent companies in January 2027 when the spin is expected to be finalized.
The PMO is currently working closely with functional leaders across both organizations to coordinate readiness activities across several key areas:
- People and Critical Hires
- Systems and Tools
- Operational Controls
- Key Business Processes
These readiness activities help identify what must be in place before separation, track progress against critical milestones, and address any gaps.
