CONNECTIONS

Big opportunities, small-town charm (with a side of “Champagne air”)

KBR’s new office in Bad Homburg, Germany isn’t just a fresh workspace. It’s a launchpad for growth, collaboration, and connection across Germany and beyond.

Step inside, and the difference is clear. The new office reflects KBR’s modern corporate style, with bright, flexible spaces designed for how teams actually work today. There are six meeting rooms (two of them large enough to host workshops or client events). The setup is intentionally future-ready, whether that means welcoming new team members or hosting industry conversations.

Right now, about 25 KBR team members call the office home, but there’s plenty of room to grow. And that’s exactly the point. The space was designed to expand alongside the business, making it easy to scale teams and bring clients together under one roof.

KBR’s presence in Bad Homburg began with the 2016 acquisition of Plinke GmbH, which enhanced our already strong Technology portfolio and added decades of specialized expertise to our teams. For many years, that legacy lived in a more traditional, historic office setting. Today, the move to a modern, purpose-built workspace reflects the next evolution, bringing that strong technical foundation into a contemporary environment designed for collaboration, growth and what comes next for a true ONE KBR office.

Built for What’s Next

Bad Homburg is quickly becoming more than just an office. It’s a hub for innovation and collaboration.

The team is actively growing its footprint across Germany and the EU market, particularly in integrated solutions, while continuing to support global customers in critical minerals and fertilizers. Plans are already in motion to host roundtables on Germany’s energy transition efforts and to bring clients into the space for deeper collaboration.

The goal?

To make Bad Homburg a place where ideas happen, partnerships grow and projects take flight.

Why Bad Homburg?

Seriously, it's a hidden gem.

At first glance, Bad Homburg feels like a postcard-perfect town. And it kind of is.

Fun Facts

  • It’s only 15 to 30 minutes from Frankfurt Airport — close enough for global travel, far enough to slow things down a bit.
  • There are around 56,000 residents, with a reputation as one of Germany’s most affluent and livable towns.
  • Known for its famous motto: “Champagne air and tradition”

But what really makes it special is the balance. You get all the infrastructure and connectivity of the Frankfurt region paired with the charm of a historic spa town tucked against the Taunus mountains.

More Facts to Share with Colleagues or Clients

Bad Homburg has some surprising credentials:

  • It was once a playground for European royalty and even served as a summer residence for Kaiser Wilhelm II.
  • The town’s spa culture dates back centuries and helped put it on the global map as a wellness destination.
  • Golf and tennis were introduced to continental Europe here, and it’s home to Germany’s oldest golf club.
  • Its famous casino inspired Monte Carlo’s design.

Not bad for a town that still feels walkable, relaxed and full of green spaces.

Work-Life balance, the Bad Homburg way

For KBR teams, the location adds something extra to everyday life. Lunch breaks can mean a stroll through the Kurpark (a large, lovely city park), quick meetups in the pedestrian-friendly town center, or even group runs and bike challenges after work.

It’s the kind of place where colleagues naturally connect both inside and outside the office.

Looking Ahead

With space to grow, a strong pipeline of opportunities, and a location that people genuinely enjoy, Bad Homburg is set to play a bigger role in KBR’s European story.

As KBR Country Manager Björn Franzen puts it, the ambition is simple:

“We want to create a place people genuinely want to be — whether they’re colleagues, clients or partners — and build something meaningful from there."
