Copilot in Our Day-to-day
Using Copilot in Our Day-to-day
It’s the hot topic inside and outside of work. AI. We all know it is having and will continue to have an impact on our lives, and it’s important that we adapt and augment our working lives using AI. Across KBR, more and more people are quietly changing how they work. They aren’t "AI experts" and they haven’t redesigned their roles. Instead, they started with a simple question:

Microsoft 365 Copilot provides a powerful generative AI experience that connects to your work data and files to unleash creativity, unlock productivity and uplevel skills. It helps remove friction from everyday work, saving time, improving clarity and freeing up headspace for higher‑value activity.
As reinforced in KBR’s AI Foundations Training, the most effective way to begin using Copilot isn’t with a complex task. It’s with something familiar and low risk. Common starting points are drafting, summarizing, organizing information or preparing for conversations.
The pattern is consistent: small experiments build confidence quickly.

How our people are using Copilot
Below are some real examples of how colleagues across KBR are getting to grips with using Copilot to boost productivity:
“Using Copilot enabled me to rapidly generate a fair and reasonable cost comparison when internal processes were not able to support an atypical request. The analysis was accepted and helped unblock a stalled approval tied to a mission-critical training need. What would normally have taken weeks of back-and-forth was resolved quickly with a higher-quality outcome. It demonstrated how AI can be a practical tool for accelerating decisions while still meeting rigorous compliance standards.” Paul Auclair, Technical Leader, Operations Research
“I try to be very clear about what outcome I want (e.g., to analyze, summarize, critique or plan). Also, I include who the information is for, where I want to use this, the format and tone. I've also used the prompt, 'What information do you need to give me a more in-depth answer?’"
Elspeth Marsh, Manager, Leadership and Learning
“I needed to summarize a whole list of actions from a Teams chat, and I used Copilot to itemize each one in order of operation. It gave me a bulleted list from several messages over a few days that made the actions much easier to track.”
Ben Palentine, Senior Consultant

What do these examples have in common?
- None of these uses are complex or experimental.
- They don’t require specialist licenses or advanced technical skills.
- They focus on everyday productivity. Start small. Start smart. Start with the task you don’t like.
