KBR contributed to the successful delivery of the METRONET Byford Rail Extension, connecting the rapidly growing Byford region in Western Australia to the Perth CBD. In collaboration with Laing O'Rourke, Colliers, and the Public Transport Authority, our team provided both concept and detailed designs for eight kilometers of track, the removal of seven level crossings, and the construction of two new stations.
After three years of dedicated effort, the project teams celebrated the official opening of the METRONET Byford Rail Extension — a major milestone in enhancing public transport infrastructure across the region.

In October, KBR employees came together to observe World Mental Health Day, demonstrating a shared commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture. It was a day of highlighting available mental health resources, having open conversations, and providing peer support across teams.

KBR joined the global celebration of World Space Week, honoring the incredible achievements and possibilities in space exploration. As a key contributor to advancing sustainable living beyond Earth, KBR has played a vital role in supporting human spaceflight. In partnership with NASA, we’re helping pave the way for bold new ventures — including the exciting Artemis program that will put humans back on the moon.

KBR announced plans to spin off its Mission Technology Solutions business into a standalone company. A new name for the spun-off entity will be revealed in the coming months. The Sustainable Technology Solutions business will continue to operate under the KBR name. This strategic move is aimed at enabling both Mission Tech and Sustainable Tech to sharpen their focus on their respective core capabilities, positioning each organization for greater growth and long-term success.
