GLOBAL
CONNECTIONS
There are approximately 37,000 KBR employees across the globe. Though we’re separated by miles, we are all connected by our values and shared purpose. In Global Connections, we celebrate our diverse team of teams by highlighting some of the places where we live and work.
In this edition, we’re thrilled to spotlight KBR's Singapore office!

A committed team and legacy of excellence
Singapore is known across the globe for its rich multiculturalism, world-class infrastructure and forward-thinking innovation. Famously dubbed the Lion City, it’s a location which blends tradition with transformation, and our KBR Singapore office reflects that spirit perfectly.
Established around 54 years ago, KBR’s Singapore office has roots almost as deep as the nation’s own independence. Today, it’s home to more than 300 employees, with plans to welcome an additional wave of colleagues this year to support upcoming work.
It’s an incredibly diverse team, too, with colleagues from Singapore, Malaysia, India, China, the Philippines, the U.K., Australia and beyond, all of whom take the time to celebrate the great blend of cultures of their fellow team members. The office is located in Bendemeer, close to the city’s central business district, and offers a modern, well-connected workspace with sleek facilities, great coffee, and a collaborative atmosphere. All in all, it’s a place where KBR colleagues genuinely enjoy coming to work!
Celebrating one another
In line with its rich diversity, there’s a prominent focus on total inclusion within the office, with colleagues celebrating a wide range of cultural and religious holidays, from Chinese New Year to Hari Raya and Diwali. As part of these celebrations, colleagues share meals, take part in storytelling, and wear traditional dress, providing a great opportunity to learn about the intricacies of each other’s culture. As put by Thomas Horden, director of Operations, Asia, “Once we’re able to understand other people's cultures, we can better relate to them on a personal level, and together, this helps us to build a better connected, values-driven environment at work.”
In addition to its multiculturalism, what truly sets the Singapore office apart is the collective attitude of the team, who consistently go above and beyond to deliver exceptional results in all they do. “It’s the most committed and capable team I’ve ever worked with,” said Thomas. “They’re tireless, humble and incredibly good at what they do.”

Working as ONE KBR for global impact
The team works together on an impressive array of projects. Their primary focus is offshore topsides design for major EPCs. The team leads in this space with extensive expertise across detailed design, FEED concepts and pre-FEED work, as well as a growing footprint in consulting and future fuels such as hydrogen and ammonia. The office also plays a key role in supporting large-scale projects across Asia, including LNG developments in Indonesia and civil nuclear opportunities in the region.

A critical part of Singapore’s success is its close partnership with KBR’s Chennai, India office, which is base to over 1,500 colleagues, 750 of whom directly support Singapore projects. The collaboration with Chennai enables the Singapore office to scale rapidly and deliver complex work efficiently. It also provides colleagues with the chance to embody our ONE KBR values across borders.
“We couldn’t do what we do without our colleagues in India,” said Thomas. “They’re a vital part of our success and a great team to work with.”
Investing in people beyond project delivery
As part of its dedication to our company values, the Singapore office is deeply committed to employee well-being. From go-karting and bowling nights, to weekend walks and even the annual Standard Chartered Marathon, the team prioritizes connection with one another and encourages participation in health initiatives. Additionally, Thomas hosts weekly coffee chats on a Friday with small groups to ensure communication among colleagues is easy, open and as inclusive as possible.
Looking ahead, the team is exploring interesting sustainability initiatives for the office itself, like urban farming, and continuing to invest in its consulting capabilities across Asia. With a strong foundation and a clear vision, we’re excited to see what the future holds for the Singapore office and our values-led team!
