UNDERWATER RESCUE
In addition to his work with Mission Technology Solutions, Science and Space, ESOC, Jared Whitehead also works as recue personnel at the Riverfest Boat Race in Port Neches, Texas. During the race, a boat capsized, trapping the driver underwater. Jared was the first responder on the scene and jumped into action, coordinating with his rescue team to initiate the recovery effort. When the rescue divers were unable to extract the driver due to complications with the seatbelt, a critical decision was made for Jared to connect his jet ski to the boat and upright it for easier access to the seatbelt and driver. Once back at the dock, the driver was freed from the boat and transported to the hospital. Jared’s knowledge and experience with watercraft and rescue operations was instrumental in saving the individual’s life.

As he cleans the headstones (over 200 so far), Erik treats them with utmost care and reverence. Each clean headstone serves as a heartfelt act of respect and a meaningful tribute to the lives of those who served our country.
