CONNECTIONS

There are approximately 38,000 KBR employees across the globe. Though we’re separated by miles, we are all connected by our values and shared purpose. In Global Connections, we celebrate our diverse team of teams by highlighting some of the places where we live and work.

In this edition, we’re thrilled to spotlight the KBR team in Dubai!

KBR in Dubai

Situated in the vast Arabian Desert, Dubai was historically a settlement known for its fishing and pearl trade. The city has grown at an astonishing rate in the past few decades. Today, it’s a sprawling metropolis and one of the fastest-growing cities in the world.

Amid the vibrant hustle and bustle sits our current KBR Dubai office, opened in 2023 and now home to 172 employees — and counting. Prior to the new office opening, the Dubai team was based in the Dubai Internet City (DIC), a popular technology and business park. KBR’s rapid growth necessitated a move, and it’s a great spot to be! KBR’s office is conveniently located near numerous hotels, the metro and the Dubai International Airport, as well as many popular attractions such as the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Palace and the Museum of the Future. The office building itself offers top-class facilities for our employees and visitors.

A Team of Teams

One of the main highlights of the Dubai office is its strong embodiment of our ONE KBR culture. Our people hale from around 32 different countries. The team also represents all Sustainable Technology Solutions’ business units and several functions. This includes Global Sales, Technology, Integrated Solutions International (ISI) Consulting, and Technology-Led Industrial Solutions, in addition to hosting the Mission Tech and Corporate Payroll teams.

This inclusivity, coupled with their strong working relationships with other KBR offices — particularly Abu Dhabi — showcases the Dubai team as an impressive example of how we can work together to truly embody our KBR value of being a Team of Teams. Everyone collaborates with one another to share expertise and achieve our full potential — together.

Working Together to Achieve

Given their strong collaboration, it’s no surprise that the Dubai office is involved in a few notable KBR projects across the globe. Most recently, this included the AMUFERT contract, with the team being instrumental in securing the ammonia technology license and providing project management consultancy services for the construction of a new fertilizer plant in Soyo, Angola.

Additionally, the Dubai office has also been involved in the Ministry of Planning Mega Projects Consultancy Portfolio, a strategic advisory portfolio led by ISI Director of Operations Chris Blackburn. The Dubai team is working closely with the Iraq office to help shape the masterplan for Iraq’s future across all ministries.

“The Dubai office is a great example of how to truly represent our ONE KBR ethos,” said ISI Senior Director of Operations Euan McCulloch. “They champion a hugely diverse range of employees in the office and consistently encourage collaboration among a variety of Sustainable Tech business units, demonstrating how all of us at KBR can work together to leverage operational efficiency and get the best out of our teams — and ourselves.”
