KBR Agile Performance and Development is a core element of KBR’s strategy for fueling our peoples’ continuous professional growth. This is accomplished in no small part through frequent Check-in Conversations.

Check-in Conversations consist of discussions to align priorities, provide feedback and coaching, and focus on development. Development strengthens performance, identifies needs, explores opportunities and helps plan for continuous improvement.

Check-in Conversations for development should discuss:

  • What makes you great at your current job? (e.g., skills, competencies, knowledge, experiences, behaviors)
  • What are your strengths and development needs?
  • What are your career goals and priorities (short and long term)?
  • What is needed for the next step?
  • What actions/projects/exposure/barriers may exist?

The conversations can be valuable in determining what needs to happen next in your journey with KBR.

Some example development activities include:

  • Structured learning (e.g., courses, seminars, workshops, certifications)
  • Reflective learning (e.g., research, reading, podcasts)
  • One-on-one coaching
  • Internal mentoring
  • On-the-job learning
  • Formal education
  • Shadowing
  • Projects/stretch assignments/job rotations

Everyone should actively engage in their own development and collaborate with their manager to identify specific focus areas, pursue them, and measure progress periodically through Check-ins.

At KBR, we celebrate the transformative power of digital education and want to emphasize the accessibility and flexibility that online platforms offer. Digital education is continuously evolving, can bridge geographical gaps, and provides opportunities for lifelong learning for us all. Please review the examples below:

  • KBR Learning, powered by Skillsoft Percipio, is an AI-driven learning platform that helps you personalize and navigate through more than 50,000 learning modules, books and videos.
  • CAISY™ Conversation AI Simulators enable learners to practice important, often difficult, conversations for a variety of business and managerial scenarios. The AI-powered trainer provides a safe space and immediate personalized feedback to guide development.
  • Skill Benchmarks are diagnostic assessments that help you measure your progress and avoid learning things you already know. It provides personalized content recommendations to direct your focus on developing that skill as rapidly as possible.
  • Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) allows employees the flexibility of a virtual course while also providing opportunities for live classroom experiences. These courses are offered in U.S. time zones as public and KBR group-intact courses, as well as being offered globally as KBR group-intact courses. Additional vendors are being added this quarter to extend our breadth of options across the globe. Each KBR business unit has VILT coordinators to assist with booking.
