There’s a Place for Everyone at KBR: Are You All In?

Get Involved with KBR’s Inclusion & Diversity Global Network

Launched this past June, the new All In global community is a one-stop shop dedicated to promoting and strengthening KBR’s culture of Inclusion and Diversity (I&D).

Though not an employee resource group (ERG), All In acts as an overarching network for group collaboration and for connecting coworkers from around the world, not to mention helping new employees join in on I&D efforts across the company. There is a place for everyone at KBR, and the goal of All In is to help you find — or create — a welcoming community that can advocate for you and your needs and for people in a similar situation.

All In’s successful debut was followed by a series of events, each featuring bold panelists discussing an important issue related to one of All In’s five key cornerstones: promoting women leaders, serving our veterans, embracing the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies, uplifting employees of diverse racial and ethnic experiences, and expanding opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

As the community continues to grow, we hope to help create ERGs that support each of those key audiences and to help KBR’s culture of empathy and understanding flourish. Individuals can get involved by visiting All In’s interactive SharePoint site, which offers a central calendar of events and I&D content for ERGs that fall within specific categories, as well as videos, intersectional materials and other important resources. All In plans to hold one to two events each month discussing various important issues … even if they’re tough conversations to have.

So far, we’ve covered topics ranging from what it means to be Black in the workplace, to the harsh realities of post-partum depression, to the many obstacles to women’s career progression — nothing is off limits. Our programs provide a respectful forum to discuss difficult topics and, in turn, to learn from our colleagues with the hope of enhancing our company culture along the way.

Anyone can tune in to our live, interactive (and often virtual) events, so don’t hold back. Send your suggested topics and questions to allin@KBR.com. If you have more questions about All In, check out our frequently asked questions, and please visit the SharePoint site to learn more about our leaders, mission, and ERGs.

People have to be true to themselves, and when you try to fake it to be something that you aren’t, it’s always going to show, and you’re probably doomed to really fail because that’s not your natural nature. I tell people to be honest to yourself, do what you have to do to make sure you’re successful, but don’t try to be something that you’re not. - KBR event speaker General Lester Lyles

Female representation (at KBR) on the board and the EOC is fantastic. It shows there’s really a place already for the next generation of female leaders. In regard to salary, equal pay for equal work should be rather basic and a natural requirement, but statistics show that it’s still not the case. So equality is one of the guiding principles in KBR’s people strategies Inclusion and Diversity efforts.KBR panelist Natalie Kiser

There are so many different aspects to learning how to be a professional, but it’s also your job as a human to understand how to interact with different humans. KBR panelist Lt. General Wendy Masiello

In order to work through illness, such as fibromyalgia, you have to educate everyone around you, so they understand what you’re really going through … I think that constant communication is key, and I think there’s a stigma attached to it. I just want to say don’t be afraid to reach out for help and do your best to communicate so [others] understand. KBR panelist Nicole Alleyene

When we acknowledge that (which) we are on (land), we are recognizing a deep connection to country and the richness of the cultures that flourished here before colonization. We pay our respects to the elders that worked tirelessly to keep those connections and cultures vibrant. KBR panelist Elizabeth Phillips
