As a part of the Human Health and Performance (HHP) Contract with NASA, KBR manages the physical and behavioral health of astronauts. Before an astronaut even steps foot onto a vehicle, KBR’s crew has been diligently caring for, tracking and improving the health of each explorer.
Fitness, Flight and Technical Training
It’s no surprise that being an astronaut requires a lot of training. KBR works with private astronauts as well as those from NASA and partner nations to educate and guide these brave explorers in physical fitness, human spaceflight requirements and technical skills.

Mission Operations
Humans can only go as far as the systems and processes in place that help move them forward. Through KBR’s Integrated Mission Operations Contract (IMOC II) and Mission Systems Operations Contract (MSOC), our team of experts is an integral part of human spaceflight planning and flight execution.
Astronaut Spacesuit Management and Spacewalk Support
Another important aspect of astronaut success involves KBR’s Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Space Operations (ESOC) Contract. Our expert team provides the NASA EVA program with operational support, sustainment and maintenance for astronaut Extra Mobility Units (EMUs) or spacesuits, and all hardware used during the spacewalks.
