A Message from Stuart Bradie

KBR President and CEO

Welcome to the Q2 2021 edition of KBR Link.

Every quarter I look forward to the release of the new KBR Link. From the latest news, to highlights of some of the amazing work we’re doing around the world, to our ESG progress, this publication tells the story of our global business — and the stories of the exceptional people who make it all happen — in stunning detail.

I am constantly awed by our people and the amazing things they do every day. They truly are making a difference and changing the world in key areas such as sustainable technology, energy transition, defense modernization, cyber and end-to-end space solutions.

As you’ve probably seen, of KBR’s core areas of expertise, space has been much in the news of late. Groundbreaking shuttle launches, rover missions to Mars, new satellites being deployed, oxygen being created on the Martian surface — it seems as though every week another significant milestone is reached on humanity’s shared journey to reach the stars.

In this quarter’s KBR Link feature story, you’ll read about some of the amazing work our people are doing to directly shape the future of space exploration and habitability — from astronaut selection and training to mission IT, robotics, astronaut health, launch and in-mission support, and more.

Additionally, you’ll learn more about how our teams of scientists are helping to identify and mitigate the effects of zero gravity on the human body over extended periods. It’s thrilling to think that the people taking the next historic steps in space — perhaps on the moon, or later on Mars — will have been trained by and worked closely with KBR experts.

Also in this new edition, you’ll read about KBR employees around the world who are walking the talk when it comes to our Zero Harm safety culture, including the winners and nominees of the 2020 CEO Award for HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environment) Excellence. And you’ll learn about an exciting new step in our journey toward being a more equitable company for all — the launch of All In, KBR’s new global inclusion and diversity community.

Those are just a few of the excellent features in store for you as you explore this edition. Also, be sure to submit your photos for the KBR Link Photo Contest. This quarter, we’re spotlighting our Efficient Energy and Health, Safety and Security Pillars, so be sure to choose photos that show how you’re “Making It Count” in these areas. I can’t wait to see your submissions and see how you’re embodying Zero Harm in your daily lives.

Please enjoy!
