GIVING BACK
KBR Supports COVID-19 Frontline Workers during Pandemic
The annual KBR Charity Golf Tournament is one of the company’s headline philanthropic events. Hosted each year by young professionals in KBR’s Houston IMPACT chapter, the tournament has raised more than $6.5 million since 2007 and supports local and national nonprofits that align with KBR’s charitable focus areas of health, safety and education.
This was the tournament’s fourteenth year at the beautiful Clubs of Kingwood in Kingwood, Texas. Though in familiar surroundings, some typical aspects of the event needed modification in light of COVID-19. Many personal safety precautions were implemented to help protect the more than 140 golfers in attendance, including social distancing measures, single-rider carts and mask requirements while on the course. Although the tournament looked a little different this year, the same charitable spirit that lives within our people was ever present. Thanks to the hard work and preparation of 50 KBR volunteers and event planning staff, the tournament was a huge success, raising more than $532,500 for nine charitable organizations that are making a real difference in our communities. This year, there was a special focus on health care workers and first responders on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19.
KBR was proud to support the following charities and their efforts at this year’s tournament:

"In these times, it’s especially important that we give back to our communities, KBR is contributing $250,000 directly to front line workers that have sacrificed so much for our communities this year and we’re honored to stand shoulder to shoulder with these men and women."
— Stuart Bradie, KBR President and CEO
In addition to making monetary donations to these organizations, KBR offered tournament spots to community heroes in appreciation for all they have done to keep us healthy and safe in 2020.
In times of crisis, KBR employees come together to help their neighbors and local communities — no matter how challenging the circumstances. In leading by example, we believe our collective efforts can make lasting change, especially amidst unprecedented times.

"KBR’s young professionals always make the Charity Golf Tournament a tremendous success and this year is no different. 2020 has been challenging in so many ways, so it means a great deal to me and to KBR that we were able to move forward with this event and I am especially proud of the work our team put in to ensuring the safety of each participant."
