KBR Reimagines Future with Centauri Acquisition
KBR significantly expands military space, defense modernization and cyber solutions portfolio
KBR is defining the future of the company, today. This October, KBR completed the acquisition of Centauri, a leading independent provider of high-end space, directed energy and other advanced technology solutions. Together, Centauri and KBR will offer unparalleled expertise in the civil, military, intelligence and commercial space markets.
Meet Centauri
Centauri is a technology-driven company that provides specialized engineering and development services for critical national security missions. Through its domain expertise in space systems, intelligence and cyber missions, and emerging technologies in areas such as missile defense and quantum science, Centauri has become an invaluable partner to its customers. Headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia, Centauri has more than 1,750 employees located at 22 offices throughout the United States.
Centauri positions KBR for strategic growth
This acquisition accelerates KBR’s growth in attractive markets and furthers its strategic transformation into a more modern, digitally driven, globally sustainable business. With Centauri, KBR significantly expands its military space and intelligence portfolio, advancing its leadership position in space authority. The acquisition also brings increased scale and a broader customer set, and builds on KBR’s existing capabilities in space system design, development, test, launch and operations. “This acquisition is indicative of our enduring commitment to becoming the technology‐enabled, solutions‐ and mission-oriented, reimagined KBR of the future,” said Stuart Bradie, KBR President and Chief Executive Officer. “I am excited about the opportunities ahead, and I am inspired to think of the important work that KBR and Centauri will do together.”

Centauri is a strong cultural fit
Not only does Centauri align with KBR’s business strategy, it is also a strong cultural fit. Like KBR, Centauri employs a talented workforce and values its people. More than 75% of its employees have high-level security clearances and nearly half hold advanced degrees. Additionally, both companies share similar values that center on integrity, empowerment, inclusion, transparency and accountability. As part of the ONE KBR family, Centauri joins the Government Solutions business and falls under the newly named Defense and Intel Solutions business unit. Not only does the move expand and enhance the company’s capabilities, but it also provides increased opportunities for all KBR employees and helps build a more sustainable and resilient company.

KBR builds a reimagined future
This acquisition is transformative. With Centauri integrated into the company, KBR will continue to tackle some of the U.S. government’s most important, challenging and complex missions. Together, the organizations will leverage their combined expertise in the military and intelligence space markets to deliver high-tech, innovative solutions that will protect U.S. and allied interests in space and propel us to the stars.
