Mental Health and Well-being
Passionate About Supporting Our People
At KBR, we truly believe that our people are our most valuable resource, and we want to make sure that every employee who joins our team of teams always feels safe, secure, valued, included and supported, regardless of whether they’re working on a job site, in an office environment or remotely.
In addition to physical health, safety and security, KBR’s Zero Harm commitment also includes supporting the mental health and well-being of each employee. Each of us is in our own place on the spectrum of mental health. Internal and external factors in our lives affect where we are on that spectrum. Are we thriving in our current situation? Are we struggling? Do we need help? Mental health naturally affects the way we approach our lives, including the way a person performs any job or task required. Our employees work in some of the most demanding, complex situations imaginable, so it is imperative that they feel supported and have access to the resources they need to help stay mentally fit in their personal and professional lives and perform their best.
At KBR, we’ve implemented a five-fold strategy to supporting our people’s mental health and well-being.
- Creating the right culture, where they know they’re in a supportive environment and it’s okay to talk about mental health
- Equipping employees with resources they need to proactively improve their mental health and well-being, as they would their physical fitness
- Equipping managers, so they know what their roles are and where they can refer employees should they need help
- Ensuring the ways we work create a positive impact, such as providing employees with flexible work arrangements, which allow for better work-life balance
- Measuring our performance by collecting actionable data through methods such as employee surveys
