Vision for Reconciliation

KBR’s vision for Reconciliation is an Australia that embraces unity and fosters a sense of belonging for all Australians. KBR is committed to truth telling, identifying past injustices experienced by First Nations People of Australia and working towards a reconciled future that includes historical acceptance of our shared history.

KBR will continue to engage and listen to the many communities we work across. We will contribute to a nation that embraces diversity and equality between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and all Australians. This will support us to guide and shape new ways to positively address greater employment and training outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.

With inclusion and diversity at our core, we will stand up and actively promote reconciliation by strengthening relationships and building greater levels of respect, and by providing real opportunities for First Nations People to contribute meaningfully within the workplace.

KBR is strongly committed to driving positive change through reconciliation. We believe greater empowerment of First Nations People will lead to better outcomes for all Australians.

Our business

Delivering Solutions, Changing the World

KBR delivers science, technology and engineering solutions to governments and companies around the world. We employ approximately 38,000 people worldwide with customers in more than 80 countries and operations in over 29 countries.

We are a global business with a local focus on delivering technology and engineering solutions to support the biggest challenges facing Australia – maintaining critical infrastructure and enhancing national security.

In Australia, we have over 65 years of operations supporting the delivery of some of the nation’s most ambitious endeavours which continue to provide benefits to Australians, including the iconic Snowy River Hydro Scheme and the Adelaide to Darwin Railway.

Today, KBR’s work is centred around supporting Australia’s critical infrastructure and national security priorities. Our 2,000 local team members are focused on delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for a safer, more secure future – from planning, design and delivery to sustainment and maintenance for road, rail, water and defence projects.

Whether at the bottom of the ocean or in outer space, our customers trust us to deliver the impossible daily.

Defining our sphere of influence

It is our goal, through KBR's continued reconciliation journey, to attract and retain a greater number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and to provide real and meaningful career opportunities where individuals can flourish.

Our size and capacity means we can positively influence a wide range of stakeholders – from our own employees, to customers, partners, suppliers and subcontractors.

As part of our Innovate RAP, we want to better understand the contribution KBR can make toward engaging all Australians in reconciliation. We’ll do this by better defining our sphere of influence which maps out key internal and external stakeholders, looking beyond our employees, customers, partners and suppliers and subcontractors and outwards to the wider communities and society as a whole. With our sphere of influence mapped out, we will look for ways to work with our stakeholders to advance reconciliation in the areas of race relations, equality and equity, unity, institutional integrity and historical acceptance. This commitment is reflected in action 1.2 of our Innovate RAP.
