What we do
Defence, Maritime & Nuclear
KBR’s Defence, Maritime and Nuclear team supports Australia’s sovereign capability through the delivery of secure infrastructure and long-term sustainment outcomes for Navy, Army, Air Force, government agencies and regulatory bodies. Through our appointments on the Defence Infrastructure Panel (DIP), including Project Management and Contract Administration (PMCA), Defence Estate Heritage and Environmental Engineering (DIP-EHEE) and Defence Support Services (DSS) categories, KBR provides integrated advisory, project management, contract administration and engineering services across Australia's Defence estate, supporting the delivery of complex, secure and nationally significant infrastructure programs.
Our Defence infrastructure legacy began over 40 years ago with the design of the original Collins Class submarine facilities at Osborne Naval Shipyard. Today, that legacy continues as we support the delivery of Australia’s future submarine enterprise through the AUKUS program, including design services for the Submarine Rotational Force West project and the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard at Osborne.
With deep nuclear expertise and one of Australia’s largest NSQEP teams, we are trusted to work across some of the most complex, regulated and mission-critical environments in Australia. With program-level thinking across precincts and asset systems, and digital tools that support assurance and sustainment, we are seamlessly embedded with Defence primes and delivery partners to enable integrated program outcomes. Our services span early-stage advisory, requirements development, design management, systems integration, safety-informed decision-making, and digital delivery approaches that help clients reduce downstream risk and maintain control across programs, precincts, and asset systems.
