KBR is working every day to be your employer of choice. Following the conclusion of the 2022 People Perspectives Survey I am pleased to introduce our second employee survey report, where we share the overall results, the highs and lows, and explain how your feedback is shaping our priorities as we strive to put people first.
I would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate. We had an incredible response, and the honest and heartfelt feedback you have shared is both humbling and inspiring. This year, we extended our survey scope in order to reach more employees, and were very pleased to see an even bigger increase in participation.
We also partnered with Great Place to Work for the first time, a global professional services organization focused on building, sustaining and recognizing high-trust, high-performance workplaces. GPTW work with thousands of companies around the world, so we can also see how our performance stacks up against other premium employers. As a result, I am delighted that we have already been certified as a Great Place to Work in a number of countries.

Your feedback covered a wide range of topics – here are a few of the highlights that stood out to me:
Overall, 82% of employees believe KBR is a Great Place to Work! I’m so pleased to see this increasing slightly compared to last year (80% in 2021), and look forward to further improvements in years to come. Attracting and retaining the best and brightest talent is central to KBR’s vision, as it is your passion, expertise and commitment that help us solve our customers most critical missions, so it’s no surprise to see that 85% of participants feel a sense of pride when they look at what we accomplish. As one of the survey respondents said: “We are truly making the world a better place.”
Our Zero Harm ethos comes to the fore once again, with 85% believing our goal of Zero Harm is achievable, and 96% saying that this is a physically safe place to work. It is encouraging to see how much this matters and the difference it makes. As one colleague said: “I have applied the ZERO HARM & Courage to Care initiative in both my professional and personal spheres of life.” Our broader focus on sustainability is also reflected in your responses, with 82% believing we are committed to supporting the environment for future generations – a huge 11% increase from last year, reflecting our continued progress in this area.
The survey also shows how deeply embedded the One KBR Values are across the company.
“I love how one can communicate with the senior managers without any fear or stress. They do not judge or answer back by looking at your position if you are junior or senior.”
With over twelve thousand comments, it is inspiring to see recurring positive statements about collaborating with smart, caring colleagues, and being trusted to work on important projects and missions. As one person put it: “My team is outstanding! My manager is a pleasure to work for. I truly enjoy working here.” At the same time, we also saw that there are areas where improvements are sought, particularly around pay and benefits, development opportunities, and the need to ensure everyone’s behavior is consistent with our values. This report celebrates our strengths while recognizing the areas where we can do more, and I hope you will be reassured that we have listened.
