This qualification will teach you how to communicate with team members to build effective working relationships and to get the most out of a team.
The quality of leadership shapes any organisation – good leaders have the skills and knowledge to get things done and effectively prioritise awareness of self and others. They communicate effectively to create an encouraging and productive work environment and apply critical thinking skills to problem-solve and achieve business goals.
In this course you will learn critical self-development and emotional intelligence skills and how to put them in place, including manage priorities, undertake project work, and apply risk management practices.
Units of Competency
The Qualification is made up of 12 Units of Competency across 7 different topic areas. These units are offered as a whole Qualification or as individual Units of Competency Micro credentialling, and will provide you with an understanding of what leadership is and how it is different to management. It shares best practices on establishing effective workplace connections, motivating and facilitating a team.
The volume of learning for a Certificate IV Qualification is 600-1200 hours over 12-18 months, and a Unit of Competency is 40 hours over 4-6 weeks. The RTO estimates that in order to complete, you will need to commit to an average of 8 hours per week study. This is a guide only and weekly study time will be dependent on the individual.
Who should do this qualification?
This nationally accredited qualification will prepare and support any Manager, Team Lead, 2 IC or emerging talent if they are leading, guiding and monitoring the effective performance of individuals and teams as well as assuming responsibility for their own performance.
These nationally accredited units will be delivered using a blended solution including self-paced eLearning, roleplays, activities, assessments, and virtual Teams workshops. Each course is designed to be run with a cohort of students, however will require a dedicated study commitment each month.
Study option
To offer maximum flexibility for individuals, the BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management is delivered in a blended method via a combination of e-learning and virtual instructor led sessions.
Students gain access to online learning materials, case studies, learning tasks, and practice questions, all working to guide the student to successfully undertake all assessments, practical exercises and evaluation tools so as to complete the course requirements. You can take each step of your qualification at your own pace, connect with others in the cohort, and receive online learning support from KBR RTO Trainers and Assessors.
The unit covering emotional intelligence (BSBPEF502) will be delivered as blended learning including live ‘virtual’ sessions using MS Teams, and a 2-day Instructor Led training workshop.
