Advanced Training Product Development and Delivery

Advanced training tools and services for accelerated operational training for tactical weapon systems.

The development of delivery of training for emerging and prototype weapon systems presents a unique and extremely difficult challenge to government program offices and defense industry contractors. System designs, tactics, techniques, and procedures evolve rapidly. The limited supply, significant expense, and overcommitted testing calendars of prototype systems typically mean that end-users, operators, maintainers, doctrine developers, and decision makers typically have limited time and access to concrete systems for effective warfighter learning. Emerging and prototype tactical systems need a training solution and service that can provide more users earlier access to realistic surrogate training courses and training tools in order to ensure that all warfighters can use new systems both effectively and appropriately on day one. KORD offers a DoD program offices and system developers a full-spectrum training development and delivery service offering that provides unmatched and proven value. Our team offers unmatched extensive experience and qualifications in training program development, rapid development of desktop, surrogate, and simulator tools for hands on training in advance of prototype readiness, operator documentation development, soldier touch-point and validation event support, and delivery of on-site or KORD-hosted classroom training. KORD’s combination of tools, people, expertise, and agility offer a training solution unique in industry today.

TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS OFFER PROMISING INNOVATIONS TO KEEP THE U.S. PREPARED ON THE MODERN BATTLEFIELD

  • Expert Training Team: KORD’s training strength is built on a foundation of its people, with extensive collective experience and qualifications. Our team of qualified and certified instructors have extensive experience with operational usage of advanced weapon systems in both peacetime and in conflict; in the development, delivery, and management of weapon systems training programs; in weapon systems maintenance operations; and in supporting the rapid program pace prototype weapon systems development.
  • Multi Modal and Flexible Training Approach: KORD understands that each program is different and that each distinct audience of training programs (key leaders, program managers, end users, maintainers) has distinct learning goals and styles. A key strength of our team’s approach is that it believes strongly in using a variety of approaches and tools, appropriately tailored to the system and to the audience, to align with different learning approaches and audience needs. KORD’s team has experience developing a mix of training programs, tools, simulations, interactive digital models, high level briefing materials, and documentation that each play a role within a training program portfolio to meet pedagogical and financial goals.
  • Virtual Crew Trainer Operating System (VCTOS): The VCTOS is an integrated training simulator solution for effective operator training that enables effective operator training on realistic weapon system controls in a much more cost-effective environment than hands-on vehicle training courses can provide. Combining easily transportable surrogate control hardware, emulated scenario data, and a full suite of fire control software, the VCTOS trainer allows for students to get direct experience to practice skills in system startup and shutdown, crew coordination, tactics development, system troubleshooting, and full kill-chain engagement training in a classroom environment rather than in the field on the deployed system.
  • Immersive 3D Interactive Computer Based Training (3DI-CBT): KORD offers the development of computer-based training centered on interactive, immersive, three-dimensional, photo-realistic digital models of prototype systems.  With experience developing 3D models for multiple programs, KORD has found such simulations a highly effective and cost-efficient solution for delivering maintenance and repair training, high level system familiarity training, and early prototype design validation with end-users.  Built using industry standard graphics engines, our 3DI-CBT solutions can be built and updated rapidly and at a low cost. The 3DI-CBT program is designed to effectively provide the end user with an immersive experience to manipulate and understand the vehicle in new and exciting ways and allows the user to personally explore the vehicle and experience the program through their own developmental process, providing a much greater understanding and retention of information.
  • Curriculum and Courseware Development: KORD offers the development of training curriculum, lesson plans, and digital courseware solutions for end user and maintainer audiences for delivery by program trainers or self-taught remote students.
  • Classroom Training Delivery: KORD’s team of instructors can deliver on-site or KORD-hosted training programs of various formats and lengths, from hours to weeks as desired. KORD’s team have significant operational and tactical experience and have delivered extensive recurring training programs for DOD program offices such as the Army’s RCCTO.  KORD’s can provide an adaptable and transportable turn-key solution including desktop courseware, classroom simulators, materials, and instructors available worldwide.
  • Soldier Validation Event Support: KORD understands the unique value that soldier touch-point events offer prototype development programs for the gathering of feedback from end-users’ hands-on engagement. KORD’s training team has supported numerous validation events, providing continuing training of users, collection of operational feedback on prototype design, and real-time refinement of training curricula.
  • Publications Development: KORD offers full-service development of training materials and publications, including operator manuals, maintenance manuals, checklists, programs of instruction, lesson plans, student handouts, DA publications, safety publications, key leader briefs, and other training materials.
