Trusted Experience
Tyndall Air Base
Following the devastating impacts of Hurricane Michael in 2018, KBR provided rapid solutions for the recovery and support required at Tyndall Air Base in Florida. KBR employees arrived on site within 48 hours after the Air Force’s call to action and immediately began working around the clock to restore the base, establishing a dining operation within nine days of arrival. Our team supplied critical resources, such as emergency power, satellite communications and internet access. Two months into the recovery efforts, KBR had mobilized and assembled a team of 3,300 personnel on site and functioned as a self-sustaining organization. The company joined the Air Force’s Task Force Phoenix – one of three task forces established by the military in response to the devastation.

Operation Allies Welcome
(OAW)
Following the collapse of Afghanistan in August 2021, KBR constructed infrastructure equivalent to small cities on greenfield sites at military installations in the U.S. and Europe to house displaced Afghans during the resettlement process. Not only did KBR provide basic food, shelter and living assistance, but also halal meal options with appropriate cultural food preparation requirements, internet access, medical and dental services, transportation, laundry, morale and recreation services, and cultural assistance to help transition Afghans to life in the U.S. KBR also launched an immense, coordinated effort to assist with Afghan SIV applications. Internally, KBR put together a Quick Reaction Team consisting of employees from legal, human resources, records management, operations, and communications specifically to respond to requests for letters verifying employment so that former Afghan employees could apply for SIVs.
Countermeasures Acceleration Group
(CAG)
Formerly known as Operation Warp Speed (OWS) – In 2019 KBR rapidly established over 60 sites providing critical temporary infrastructure for the trials of the COVID-19 vaccine across the United States. This mission required KBR to purchase or lease, install, and maintain trailers in multiple configurations.

Weather Modeling &
Seismic Monitoring
KBR performs meteorological observation and weather modeling for a range of government and research organizations, including NASA launch operations, NOAA’s National Weather Service, and the U.S Geological Survey (USGS). As part of the national Mesonet program, our team provides meteorological observation data derived from non-federal observing networks including 20,000 observing platforms covering all 50 states.
Additionally, KBR provides technical support services to the Albuquerque Seismic Lab (ASL) and associated seismological networks. KBR is primarily responsible for the operation of the Global Seismographic Network (GSN), a permanent digital network of over 150 modern stations in 80+ countries. KBR also provides support to seismic networks in the US: N4 Network (143 stations), the Advanced National Seismic System (ANSS) backbone network, regional networks, and earthquake aftershock deployments.
Data Analytics and
Real Time
Situation Awareness
KBR’s team provides researchers and developers end-to-end data analytics to support both human health and performance and land satellite data. Our capabilities enable organizations to operationalize data, providing expertise to support data collection, accomplish transformations and analytics, produce visualizations, and implement decision support systems.
KBR supports operations for U.S. Geological Survey’s large, 24x7 multi-mission science center serving worldwide user communities for remotely sensed land data, including first responders, intelligence, agriculture, academia, fire, water, and research.
KBR’s Common Operating Picture for Event Response Situation Awareness (COPERS) was inspired and tested by operators, the military and first responders in the field – giving them a complete report of all activity related to the operations, available during and after execution. The immediately intuitive platform requires minimal training and excels in the field for use in mobile environments (4G/5G) with a form-factor specialized for display on a phone and tablet. COPERS’ extensive field experience has proven capabilities for a variety of U.S. government entities including the Army, Navy, Air Force, National Guard, National Science Foundation, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
