KAD Nuclear brings together three global players with a rich heritage to the MoD’s supply chain, delivering excellence, reliability and innovation. As a new alliance, KAD Nuclear was a natural next step for KBR, Assystem and Altrad Babcock, whose respective industry experience, as well as their strong working relationships, brings a solid and exciting offering to the market. KAD Nuclear’s strength in collaboration has been developed through partnerships on projects such as the Sellafield Programme and Project Partners framework, and through the delivery of services and projects across EDF’s UK and French civil nuclear fleet. KAD Nuclear brings together the best of the global nuclear and defence supply chain to deliver a new approach to the NTSP framework. KAD Nuclear is also exploring new market opportunities where the alliance can bring its value added approach and best-in-class delivery to strategic customers and locations globally. Ian Hudson, Framework Director for KAD Nuclear, said, “We are absolutely delighted to have been selected as a supplier for FNICAP. “KAD Nuclear has a clear and unique philosophy; we have the right people; we are ready to go and we will work collaboratively inside KAD and with other framework suppliers to find the best solution. “At the heart of it all we are incredibly proud to have the chance to work on some of the most nationally significant projects of our time and create world-class infrastructure that will serve this country for decades to come.”
KAD Nuclear secures contract to supply Ministry of Defence strategic project
Partnership between KBR, Assystem and Altrad Babcock will deliver the management services package for the Faslane Nuclear Infrastructure Continuous Availability Project (FNICAP), as part of the Nuclear Technical Support Provider (NTSP) framework.
KAD Nuclear is building on its success in the UK Nuclear and Defence sector with a contract award to support delivery of a major naval infrastructure programme. In May 2020, KAD Nuclear, a partnership between KBR, Assystem and Altrad Babcock, was one of three suppliers selected by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) to join the new Nuclear Technical Support Provider (NTSP) framework. NTSP will now support the Clyde Infrastructure Programme (CIP) and wider Royal Navy and defence requirements, by delivering engineering and project management services for the naval base infrastructure upgrade, as well as specialist nuclear technical services, under a programme valued between £250 million to £400 million. In this first substantial package of work on the framework, KAD Nuclear will deliver the Management Services Package for the Faslane Nuclear Infrastructure Continuous Availability Project (FNICAP), helping to extend the design life of key facilities and maintain operations.
