At SIEW, Deputy PM Lawrence Wong declared:
- SCP will target a more ambitious NDC target of 60MT Co2e p.a by 2030 (from from 65 MT at COP26).
- Confirmed Hydrogen strategy has a major role in meeting the country's power needs (up to 50%)a as well potentially demand from its maritime and chemical sectors.
- Recognized major uncertainties remain in technology / commercial feasibility, hence all parties are encouraged to trial and experiment with "small scale power" and "bunkering" projects.
