Fusion Energy
Fusion power offers the prospect of an almost inexhaustible source of energy for future generations, but this also presents exciting and complex engineering challenges. Current research on nuclear fusion is carried out in over 50 countries, and noting the recent and significant fusion milestones, the goal of sustained fusion energy for commercial use is closer than ever.
Our experience in the fusion energy sector, our understanding of the enabling technologies, and through our holistic systems approach, we are delivering the efficient and effective adoption of advanced engineering techniques to realise progress in fusion technologies, and contributing to transition the sector from science to engineering realisation.
“Our work supports the concept design of multiple proof-of-concept devices for developers, as well as creating new enabling technologies in the supply chain that will be integral to many different concepts. All of this work drives towards our overall ambition: delivering viable and commercially attractive fusion in our lifetimes.”
Scott Davis, Fusion Technology Lead
“Fusion Energy is a significant area of growth for our business, reflecting many of our values, and allowing our high-calibre engineers and consultants to solve some of the most exciting and challenging engineering problems in the energy sector.”
Steve Lawler – Fusion Energy Business Lead, Vice-chair of the FIA Fusion Group
“Frazer-Nash have provided effective project management, systems engineering, and wider technology management support to First Light, as we tackle the diverse and deeply technical challenges that come with fusion energy innovation.”
Christophe Junillon – Chief Technical Officer, First Light Fusion
“It’s fair to say that Frazer-Nash have shown a real commitment to the EDS framework, embraced the open and honest spirit while remaining totally professional in their approach both commercially and technically. Feedback received from the technical teams have always been positive and complimentary for the work performed and delivered by Frazer-Nash.”
Paula Barham, Director of Procurement & Supply Chain, UK Atomic Energy Authority
